Overview
Benita Willis has made the successful transition from stellar junior hockey player to being the 2004 World Cross Country champion, before making the leap into marathons. She is a regular podium finisher in road races across Europe and America, has won bronze at the 2003 World Half Marathon Championships in Portugal, and is fast becoming Australia’s greatest ever middle distance runner by holding the Australian records for the 2km, 3km, 5km, 10km and marathon.
She has finished 1st at the World Cross, 3rd at the World Half Marathon, led Australia to two bronze team medals in World Cross, 3rd at the Chicago Marathon and 1st in the Berlin Half marathon. Benita’s next ambition is to run a sub 2hr20 for the marathon.
She now resides in Boulder, Colorado and is sponsored by Saucony.
